THE PRINCES’ ISLANDS

About this tour

The PRINCES’ ISLANDS is an archipelago located in
the Sea of Marmara and consists of 9 islands. The name of these islands is due to the fact
that from the Roman to the end of the Byzantine period, aristocrats,
princes and even queens were expelled and exiled to these islands.
During the Ottoman Empire, this continued to affect the sultans
and shehzadeh.
To date, only some of them are available for visiting
and are very popular among both tourists and
locals. The Princes’ Islands are famous for their attractions,
museums and monasteries of various faiths, as well as of course
the fascinating nature.
During our tour, you will visit two of the largest and most important of
these islands.
Our tour will start from HEYBELIAD, which is the second
largest island. Here you will see many charming buildings,
such as the Naval Academy of 1773, in the courtyard of this
academy there is a church dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
There is a beautiful place on this island, known as Degirmen, there is
a public beach and a water sports club.
Restaurants and cafeterias are located around the pier.
The island is crowded both in summer and in winter.
Visiting these islands is the best way to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
On the way from Heybeliad to Buyukada Island, you will have a great
lunch on the ship.
The largest and most famous among the Prince Islands is
BYUKADA. Here you can find historical sites of the 6th century.
In the south of the island there is a quiet forest, and on the north side there is an extensive
residential area near the pier. There are beaches and many different
restaurants, cafes and shops. It is also possible to spend the night in
comfortable hotels on this island. Byukada is also popular among
the elite of the country, both for recreation and for permanent housing.
